Zach, and The Crazy, Musical, Beautiful, Thrilling, and Way Too Long Adventure.
Zachary Baughman grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, and has since moved around like a gypsy. He has been making music and learning to play various instruments since the age of 10, and has been producing music for nearly 10 years. Formerly a dedicated Metal-core enthusiast, Zach has grown to love more than simply just heavy break downs and screaming lyrics. If asked, he would insist that you could NOT find a song he did not enjoy, or at the very least appreciate the artistry. This has a big influence on his music. There have been too many artists to count that have had an impact on the music made by OKAii. The artists who have inspired his music ranges from Metal-core artists such as, Underoath, or August Burns Red, to well-known mainstream artists such as, Marianas Trench, or Owl City, and everything in between. The list goes on, and on. Starting out as multi-genre artist "Death Overcome," (Music from Death Overcome can be found on youtube.) over time, as he made more and more EDM music, Zach decided to change his name to one that would feel more relevant in the electronic music scene. With a Subscription to Splice (Copyright Free Music Samples), and a desire to create his own sound, OKAii was born. A few years later, Zach released his first single, "No Longer Foreigners," on most major streaming services, and many more since then. In 2018, Zach decided to move to Jasper, Alberta, for a summer position, which proved to be a very pivotal moment in his life, it is where he would foster his love for the mountains, hiking, and would also be the very place where he would find the woman he would marry, hiding in his best friend. Early on, he decided to make an EP about his experience in Jasper, and name every song after some of his favourite places in the national park. After Leaving Jasper, and moving to BC, he polished off his songs, and on December 1st, 2018, he would accomplish two major milestones. He would release his first EP as OKAii, and he would marry the love of his life, Keeley Baughman. In early 2019, "Escape," by OKAii was added to the "Bangers," playlist on Spotify, and has Since Reached 6,700 streams.
